Plateau

I think I've plateaued. I've been trying to lose the same two pounds for two, maybe, three weeks now, and I just stay the same weight. 2 more pounds means I have met my next 5 pound goal. I told myself that once I meet that goal I can reward myself by buying new running shoes - my old ones are sooooooooo old and I know I need new ones AND I can go buy new pants because the ones I'm wearing don't stay on. I need a middle size pant to get me to my pre-pregnancy pant.

This week my goal is to run 5 miles/5 times a week. I will TRY to not eat cereal at night - that still seems to be my hardest temptation. I must get rid of these 2 pounds! They are driving me crazy. I'm ready to see a new number on the scale.

Recent Lessons

A couple of really interesting breakthroughs in the last 2 weeks.

After the darling baby was born, the only thing I wanted to do to celebrate was to eat a hot fudge sundae. When I explained it to my OA meeting, I started crying. I suddenly discovered that I don't have any other way of celebrating except to go out and eat something. Working through all of that issue brought me around to the fact that I don't handle the stress of good times very well. I have learned to deal with bad stress, but the good stress is really getting to me.

I read the intro on a book that said that compulsive eating is a three pronged problem--emotional, spiritual and physical. I am beginning to see that. I have also realized that overcoming my eating is process. Although I have been on every diet under the sun, I have only just started to work through process of healing and it is that process that is going to create the weight loss that I need.

The last thing is that every layer of fat is really a layer of unresolved emotions that I have to deal with. (that is very bad grammar, I know) But I am finding that as I am more willing to deal with my emotional pain, it becomes easier for me to let go of the weight.

Down 34 pounds from a lifetime high of over 200.
On track to lose another 20 by the end of this year.

Very happy today.

Forced

I didn't want to, but I did do my run/walk today. I didn't enjoy, but I did enjoy the fact that I did it; I revved up my metabolism; I burned some calories.

Oh, I am down 2 pounds. I feel hungry, I will go drink a protein shake.

AH HA!

Found you!

I wondered what had happened to my weight loss buddies. Apparently you can run (if you are Candice) but you can't hide.

Two weeks ago I broke through a plateau that I have been sitting at for months. I now weigh less than 180. Remember, I am only 5' 2". In celebration of that marvelous achievement, I spent the next two weeks gaining 3 pounds and then fighting it off again. This morning I am back down to 179. My goal is to hit 160 by the end of the year.

Last Sunday, after getting the news of the baby's birth, I went out and had a hot fudge sundae to celebrate. And then we went to Mom's on Labor Day and had Chicken Enchiladas -- I'm not supposed to eat dairy (oh, the cheese) or the tortilla (I don't know if it was corn or wheat, but I'm not supposed to eat either).

It seems so hard to me, that I only cheat a little bit and it sets me back at least a week. Granted, the sundae was not cheating "a little bit", but some weeks all it takes is one (okay TWO) pieces of bread and I'm stuck.

On the hopeful side, I am feeling thinner. I decided last night that it is time to buy new jeans, as the ones I am wearing are now to baggy. That feeling, in and of itself, is very motivating.

Onward and downward!

It's A Miracle...or...Happy For Me

For not being SO diligent for the last 2 weeks, I was supposing that I gained maybe 7 pounds, but who knows because why weigh and feel discouraged when what I need to feel is hope. I had a very good day yesterday; meaning I got through it and I exercised. I did not weigh, so I don't know what my starting weight was. This morning I thought I would give it a go, ready for a certain number on the scale. What did I see?? I was only 1/2 a pound higher than the last time I weighted 2 weeks ago! That's 5 pounds less that I thought! What a luscious gift for me!!

I will keep on the keeping on. Do the best that I can and hope for 5 pounds a week!

I also enjoyed that Atkins, caramel nut chocolate, snickers type, candy bar yesterday with only 2 or 3 carbs. That was a delight. I will buy more of those.

I will now go on my walk!

Me Too

I didn't sleep much last night.
Woke kids up.
Walked them to school.
Did my own 2.21 mile walk.
Burned 394.9 calories.
Will have a "shake". I do like them.
I will go get new tires on my car.
I can do it TOO!

P.S. I can't believe you ran last week when I thought it was too smokey and unhealthy! Good for you!
